The Friendly Blogger And Zombie Chicken Awards

Sandee at Comedy Plus nominated me for not one, but two, ultimately fabulous awards. The first is The 2009 Friendly Blogger Award from Colleen at Short Stories in the Making.

Don't you love this awards design? And what an honor it is to receive it from one of the coolest bloggers in the blogosphere. Thank you Sandee! ( I rarely use exclamation points. I keep them in reserve for special bloggers like you.)

Click because there's more to come...

The Second Award from my buddy Sandee at Comedy Plus is the (get ready for this one, folks.) The Zombie Chicken Award, passed to Sandee from Sandi at Nothing Off Limits
Although this award may seem silly, I would advice you to take it seriously... You'll see what I mean after you read the rules...thank you again, Sandee, I'm truly honored.

The rules of the zombie chicken say...
"The blogger who receives this award believes in the Tao of the zombie chicken - excellence, grace and persistence in all situations, even in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. These amazing bloggers regularly produce content so remarkable that their readers would brave a raving pack of zombie chickens just to be able to read their inspiring words. As a recipient of this world-renowned award, you now have the task of passing it on to at least 5 other worthy bloggers. Do not risk the wrath of the zombie chickens by choosing unwisely or not choosing at all…"

Do you see what I mean? First, let me say how honored I am, (as any writer would be) to receive an award that contains these silly heartwarming words, "their readers would brave a raving pack of zombie chickens just to be able to read their inspiring words."

I feel like framing it and hanging it on my wall..no kidding....

I took my time in choosing the following recipients for both of these incredible awards, because of how special they are, in addition, I didn't want to risk the wrath of zombie chickens if I didn't "choose wisely."

(I'm sorry I haven't the slightest idea how or why The Disobedient Chicken who lives in my sidebar is... excuse me, "Not where she belongs. Pardon me, little chicken..." Oh, forget it, just ignore her, she is not an award.

Alright, I nominate the following blogger's for both of these ultra cool awards:

(Some of these bloggers may have already received this award, but I wanted to express the way I feel about their content, as well as their friendship; so, they'll have two awards. Hey, you can have two Academy Awards...so there-

Congratulations to the following:

Bev at Merry Weather
Ettarose at Sanity On Edge
Sandee at Comedy Plus and Blogging By Sandee
Dawn at Twisted Sister

Eric/Speedy at The Speedcat Hollydale Page

Maunie at Mauniejames 2

Daisy (and Harley too) at Daisy The Curly Cat

Babs at Beetle's Memories 'N' Ramblings
Grace at Hugz Before You Go...
The Retired One at The Retirement Chronicles

Marie at Nourish: Living, Laughing, Whining

Mother Maitri at Maitri's Heart

Girlie Geek at girliegeek
Bud at WTIT: The Radio Blog

I could go on and on, and I'm sorry that I went overboard, but there are so many bloggers out there that fit in both of these award categories that I couldn't stop. If your name is not listed here, it's probably due to the fact that I have another award in mind for you.

While I was out, I was blessed enough to receive many awards that I haven't had a chance to pass along...Therefore, I decided to have an awards day every Monday in an effort to post each and every one of them. I'm grateful to all of you who have acknowledged my work, thus, if your blog is not listed here, I didn't forget you. Remember, every Monday will be awards day on A Nice Place In The Sun for some time-

Congratulations and forgive me for passing out more than five awards...Oh ...I hope that doesn't mean I will have to brave a raving pack of zombie chickens- I wonder if that is why the Disobedient Chicken is hanging around...Do you suppose she is has been assigned some sort of chicken watch?

I Am An Awesome Blogger Friend ...And ....

Isn't this a gorgeous award? It's was created by Ettarose from ettarose-edge of sanity. com and I am one of the bloggers lucky enough to be nominated. Ettarose is one of the funniest writers and nicest bloggers on the internet, so I couldn't have been happier when I saw that she thought of me, well...actually I couldn't believe it. Thanks Ettarose. You've made me smile once again.

And I took the liberty of quoting some of what you wrote in your award post.

"I created this award because words sometimes are not enough to show how much you guys mean to me. I have “met” so many good people on the internet, and a lot of you have brightened my life in so many ways. "

She also said that the blogs she nominated had the option of either passing the award along to others or posting it, it was up to them. Her only request is that you link your post back to her, the creator. Because when bloggers forget to mention the blogger who created the award we lose sight of where it originated and that's a drag. Therefore, remember the awards creator when you pass it along to your "Awesome Blogger Friends."

Thanks again Ettarose for this magnificent honor...you're the greatest.

And because I think both you and your award are also "awesome" I decided to pass your award along to my special "awesome bunch" of friends. Who are:

Dawn at Twisted Sister
Sandee at Comedy Plus
Ferd at The Best Parts
Eric from Speedcat Hollydale Page
Bud at WTIT Radio Blog
Maunie at her new blog Maunie's World

Farvel Cargo
Paula's Playground

I usually don't place awards on the same post, but I'm been blessed enough to be nominated for a few more by my buddy Sandee from Comedy Plus that I've had for some time now. I love them too and I wanted to pass them along before Sandee thinks I forgot. Both of these awards were passed to Sandee from The Teach at Work of the Poet

One is the You Make Me Smile Award and the other is the Super Commenter Award, both of which I would like to pass to everyone I nominated for The Million Dollar Friend Award I gave out on Monday, so check the list. However, I would like to mention a few bloggers for The Super Commenter Award who frequently leave comments that keep me going on a daily basis. Thank you again Sandee and thanks to all of you~

Nominees for the You Make me Smile Award is everyone on my blogroll and on my list for The Million Dollar Friend Award.

And special thanks to my regular super commenter's:

Dawn at Twisted Sister
Sandee at Comedy Plus
Maunie at her new blog Maunie's World
Bud at WTIT Tape Radio Blog
Chilly at On The Bricks
Daisy at Daisy the Curly Cat

Sue at Farvel Cargo

Paula at Paula's Playground
Ettarose at ettarose-edge of sanity.com
Eric at Speedcat Hollydale page
Ferd at The Best Parts
Jeni at Down River Drivel
Kim at Purple Frogcat
Broadway Matron at Broadway Matron

If you are a regular commenter and I left out a link to your blog, please forgive me and let me know...and I will promptly add you.

Congratulations to all of you and thank you Sandee and Ettarose for nominating me. Both of you made my day, week, and year....

Arte y Pico Award

Sandee at Comedy Plus nominated me for the Arte y Pico Award created at the Arte y Pico blog. Then, she blew me away with what she said in my honor, Ann is one of the most original bloggers out there. Her posts are always a great read. I so look forward to her Tuesday question each week. She also is a very dear friend."

And I think of you as my dear friend as well, Sandee. I also think you are funny, kind, compassionate, intuitive...just an all round talent. You strike me as an independent spirit with a reckless sense of adventure- someone who cares about people- a leader- who will catch someone with their hand in a cookie jar, and smile, but not utter a word.

Mel from Monday Morning Power awarded Sandee with the Arte y Pico and said that "her stories are priceless" and I have to agree, he also said, "She is truly one of the funniest people in the blogosphere."

My hats off to you Sandee, and thank you for this honor~

The Rules:

1. You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also for contributing to the blogging community, no matter what language.

2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.

4. Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of “Arte y Pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.

I agree with Sandee who inquired in her post "just five?" because there are so many old and new excellent bloggers I would love to give this award too and who deserve it. However, I think the creators want just five; therefore, here are my five nominations:

Dawn from Twisted Sister has thought provoking and funny posts that keep readers returning day after day, including myself. Twisted Sister is hands down one of the best blogs on the internet. Dawn treats her readers to an excellent atmosphere, blog design, and a natural talent for storytelling. ~A must visit ~

Speedy at Speedcat Hollydale Page : Speedy’s crazy antics and creative imagination entertain his reader’s one post after another. I lose time on Speedy’s blog. I’m so busy laughing, reading, or learning, that before I know it twenty minutes have slipped by …and I realize I’ve read every post on the page. Therefore, Speedy knew what he was doing when he named his blog Speedcat Hollydale Page, because before you know it you will read the entire landing page!
Congratulations Speedcat~

Budweiser at WTIT Radio Blog is a hilarious mischief-maker, who is constantly coming up with new ideas. He spend years as a radio DJ and morning host which I bet he also did well due to his personable quick wit and energy. Although, my favorite feature is his Stealing meme techniques and dating profiles. And he says he doesn’t write many but when he writes a personal story about life its funny. One thing you can count on from Bud’s blog is there’s always something new going on and it’s always going to be funny. Congrats Budweiser~

Mimi at Mimi Writes also known as the queen of meme’s and author the BlogBlast for Peace, which is now on its fourth launch. It began in 2006 with a post from Mimi Writes and has since traveled from blog to blog around the world or at least in the countries with internet access.

Mimi’s writes that the peace Globe Project has “reached 35 countries and 46 states.” I just think that is truly a remarkable accomplishment and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to take part in the project. For more information on The BlogBlast for Peace just visit Mimi blogs or clink the link in my sidebar.
Congratulations Mimi although I know you’ve probably already received this award, it wasn't from me, so now you have two. Thanks for all you do~

And my last nomination is my good friend Paula at Six 4 Paula who is one blogger with an eye for web design. I think Six 4 Paula's blog is thought provoking and funny with an upbeat atmosphere and warm tone. Congratulations Paula you deserve it~

Any blog not nominated for this award, don't worry you just may be a winner of the You Cheer Me Up Award, in addition to a part of the You Cheer Me Up Award blogroll. Yep, that’s what I said…another blogroll.

Have a great day everyone and congratulations to all the award recipients~

Aussie Cynics Integrity

I thought,The Little Aussie Cynic deserved its own post title, because this blog is one of the happiest places to visit on the internet. Aussie is one of my first blogging buddies in the blogosphere. I met her on blog catalog when I hardly knew anyone, and knew less about what I was doing than I do now. Can you imagine that? It was a scary experience, and the blogs author, Aussie, was so kind, reaching out to me then, as she is reaching out to me and others now, in a rare and personable manner, a manner that could put a wild boar at ease. She is responsible for a lot of my early happy memories writing A Nice Place In The Sun.

Plus, have you seen Aussie's blogs new template? The ocean colored background is warm and inviting, very much in keeping with the atmosphere the author has consistently portrayed since I first read her blog.

I hope I didn't embarrass you Aussie, I just wanted to publicly thank you for thinking of me, and I was blown away by a nomination for creativity.

Here's Aussie's post:

"After looking, reading and watching many many Blogs and bloggers I decided to issue some recognition to those fellow bloggers I feel maintain integrity in the Blogs.

bannercreator-nu-1.gif

All these bloggers incorporate within their wonderful sites, an integrity not always seen.

They share terrific stories, topics, discussions and images. All Well worth a look.

So in the spirit of Wonderful blogs

I would like to award the Bloggers with Integrity Award

to:

A Nice Place In the Sun

For The Spirit of Giving

The Santa Community Blog

For Staying True To Their Beliefs

So congratulations to all and keep up the fabulous work you do…. We love it!"

And Aussie we love you! In honor of Aussie's really inspiring and heartfelt gesture, I would like to award the following blogs in keeping with her format. I really liked the thought and effort Aussie put into each category, so I wanted to honor her by doing the same thing.

So without further rambling, and much hand wringing here are my choices... That is after this brief update, on Oct.30...

I would like to add that after this post was written this award made a real impact on the blogging community. It is hopping around like a cat trying to keep its balance on a slippery rooftop! After nominating Sandee from Comedy Plus in the "Spirit Of Giving" category", Aussie turned around and awarded Sandee for the same category on her blog that I nominated Aussie for in the Social Conscience category entitled, Coillision of the Willing. Now, tell me that's not some hopping around nominations. It's just like I predicted, the award is so personable blogs you know with these qualities instantly pop in your head after you read the the category. Congrats Aussie on the success of Bloggers With Integrity. And thank you Sandee from Comedy Plus for also awarding me in the category, "For The Spirit of Giving." Anyway, here is the list of my recipients...

The Mariuca Super Star Award!

My very best buddy Christy from Christy's Coffee Break nominated me for the Mariuca's Superstar award! I love it, love it, love it Christy!

When I read the award title I thought of a Saturday Night Live character who says I love it, love it, love it, as she kicks her legs in the air! She's kidding, well actually overacting to be funny, but I wasn't when I danced around my living room with my groovy new award, reciting I love it, love it, love it!

Evidently, Mariuca's readers missed her enough to leave comments when she was away, so she created this award to thank them. As I read Mariuca post, I realized how considerate and kind bloggers can be, or I should say friends can be. Good bloggers use the opportunity to write in a positive way, a way that makes a real difference in the lives of others every day.

I think those are the bloggers Mariuca is referring to as Superstars! Thank you Christy for thinking of me as one of those bloggers, and thank you Mariuca for creating this award. Mariuca seems like a special person, and I know Christy's friendship is a virtue. I'm happy to be on the planet with these two woman.

The Friendly Site Award!

Speedycat Hollydale is one of the nicest new friends I've met lately. And I'm not saying this because he gave me an award, ...well, no, it's because he is a nice and funny blogger, with a great sense of humor, a funny bone that runs in the family according to his post on Santa's Community blog.Evidently, on a shopping trip during the holiday's, Speedy's eyebrows were still painted from playing Santa, but nobody told him. It's a really funny post, and I think he's going to be a fun fellow blogger. I look forward to more laughs Speedy and I thank you for your generous heart.

Speedy was given this really nice award by Erina from Into The Inkpot, (isn't that a neat name?)

Erina tried to find the creator of the award to give them credit, but was unable to to find out where it originated. So please, if it's you or you know where we can credit the link, please let someone know. It's really pretty and a nice thought so everyone wants to thank the creator.

I think the following blogs are spectacular on top of being friendly:

Christy'sCoffeeBreak the best of the best

Thanks again Speedy.

The Community Blogger Award

I've been awarded the Community Blogger Award by my good friend Dawn at Twisted Sister, in addition to my other good friend Sandee at Comedy Plus who included me in her community award list in her acceptance post. Thanks to you both!

I love the ideology behind this award and I'm thrilled that these two ladies would think of me when passing it along. The community award originated with Cellobella at the Sultana blog, who said, "I wanted the award to say - this is a person who reaches out and makes my blogger community a better one." I think that is so kind and I'm thrilled to be in the position to pass it along as well as be included in the blogroll.

More Totally Fabulous Blogs

Christy, from Totally Fabulous and I have created this Totally Fabulous Award for bloggers!

We will be giving this award out to those bloggers who are fun, cool, and of course Totally Fabulous!

If you'd like to pass this award to some more fabulous people then go right ahead, we have lifted the limit you can give out, and it really isn't required you give out any at all, it's totally up to you!(no pun intended) Christy suggested we make the award free of any rules to begin with, and gave out as many as she saw fit. Then our great friend and hilarious blogger, Sandee, from Comedy Plus played by her own rules and gave out as many as she wanted as well. lol! When I saw that the two of these bloggers (who are obviously more experienced bloggers than I) gave out more than five awards, I thought, well...

I missed it up again, ... and now I have some "'splaining to do" as Ricky Ricardo would say, ...or should I say an apology to make? I'm sorry, ... but happy to have a chance to make it up to the blogs I left out due to the rule. Congrats and please except my apology! Have fun giving out as many as you like, and link them back to Christy and Me! Also, please link your post back to the original post on Totally Fabulous, so that there's an original point of reference.

Have fun!

Here are some more fabulous blogs most of which were on my new blogs on blogroll list that possess the qualities we felt typical of Totally Fabulous award recipients,

Fruit Species
Cooking with Corey
The Rising Blogger
Eats Your Math
Bobbarama's Humor Carnival
Kissing The Dogwood
Monday Morning Power
Just A Girl In Short Shorts Talking About Whatever
Santas Community Blog
Lady Banna
The Magical Golden Cat
Mother's Home
Blue Ribbon Bloggers
First Time Dad
What Was God Thinking
Nonsense Fun,Tears,Happiness, and Anger All Rolled Into One
Polliwog's Pond

I would like to give a special thanks to Christy with Christy's coffee Break, Sandee at Comedy Plus, Dawn and Ann at Twisted Sister, and Bob at Bobbarama.com for recognizing and validating my material. A supportive friend is the life blood of every writer, and to have more than one fills my heart with unspeakable gratitude.

If you feel you are also 'Totally Fabulous' and have been left out please let me or Christy know and you will add you to the totally fabulous list.

This award was designed by Mike Wheeler of Ordinary Folk. If you would like to have a cool blog badge, award, or special profile picture created then contact the artist for his rates. ~

Nice Matters Award! It Makes A Big Difference!

My good friend Sandee from Comedy Plus, send me an e-mail that said she was awarding me the "Nice Matters" award, given to her by Bridget from And Miles To Go Before We Sleep and Express Bee from Muffin. 53 I think it is a great name for an award, and it’s so true, nice really does matter, and make a big difference!

I think I had an angel visit this week since some great things have happened to me. First, my good friend Christy from Christy's Coffee Break and Writers Reviews added me as the co-author on her poetry site, A Hint of Poetry. Then the blog fairy paid me a visit, (sorry Bob) and now this! This has been one of the nicest weeks on my calendar this whole year!

There are so many nice bloggers who have been great to me, and I’m the one getting the nice award? I'm on cloud nine, in the company of great friends, who also believe that nice matters! Your friends have so much to do with your attitude and in turn, you have so much to do with theirs.

The bloggers creating these awards understand the difference we all make, they are the diamonds in the rough, and in every community, they magically show up when we need them.

The bloggers who are given awards, and then passing them on, in addition to sharing a kind word everyday, are making nice matter.

By encouraging niceness, we are empowering each other to live with a positive outlook, and sparking the interest of those who live in a bad mood. It’s harder to be kind when treated unkindly, but at the same time it's hard to be unkind when treated kindly, so it helps when someone is setting a positive example.

For instance, when someone is unkind, if you return the unkindness with a nice word or positive energy, it makes it hard for them to continue being nasty, thereby destroying the opportunity for a negative reaction.

The giving of these positive awards, including this one, supports the positive and kind atmosphere within the blogging community. If the atmosphere is positive and giving, and we're rewarding positive attributes, we're creating a nice place in the world, or to use one of my favorite sayings, A Nice Place In The Sun!

Of course I’m supportive of that idea! Here are the bloggers that I believe make nice matter, either in the blogging community or out in the world we live in-

Christy, From Christy’s Coffee Break
Ellen, from Non-Profit Communication blog

Winston, Eat Your Maths
Monday Morning Power
Kissing The Dogwood

When you are a recipient of the Nice Matters Award, please pass on the niceness, to

five blogs you think are nice and linking back to the blog who passed it to you!

Thank you again, Sandee at Comedy Plus and the blogger responsible for such an outstanding award, and thank you to all my other blogger friends who always make nice matter, I know who you are!

The Blue Ribbon Blogger Award

The illusive blog fairy honored me with the blue ribbon blogger award! I was down in an unusual way today when I noticed a message in my message box on MyBlogLog from the blog fairy!

It was the kindest message: “Congratulations! You have touched people with your writing. You are a blue-ribbon blogger!

When I was a child, my brothers and I used to catch lightening bugs in mason pickle jars in my grandmothers backyard. We let them go of course, but before we did we would watch them in the jar for a few minutes. I wondered if they were friends with any fairies.

There is an innate goodness about the idea of fairies and the mystical magic they represent. I wished they were more than a dream and now I know that they are! The blog fairy is one incarnation of that dream. I wonder what else may be in store since fairies help us realize our dreams and therefore help us make them come true.

When I went to the blog fairy’s web site and copied this from her profile, "I keep watch over all the blogs and bloggers in the vast blogosphere. It is my joy to shine light on those that show love and kindness and to honor them." Francesca Faerie is written as the name on that profile.

She also has this quote listed by Lynn Holland.

“Fairies are invisible and inaudible like angels. But their magic sparkles in nature.” ~ Lynn Holland

Here is what Beatrice Potter thought of fairies,

"I remember I used to half believe and wholly play with fairies when I was a child. What heaven can be more real than to retain the spirit-world of childhood, tempered and balanced by knowledge and common-sense...?”

Beatrix Potter’s Journal, 17 November 1896, from the National Trust collection.

Blog fairy thank you for reminding us of the fairies we knew in childhood, we have had them hidden within our grown-up hearts. Thank you for this honorable blue ribbon blogger award!

The Rising Blogger Post Of The DAY Award!

I won The Rising Blogger post of the day Award! Yes, It's not a typo, the winning post of the day! The Rising Blogger is awarding blogs that are insightful, creative, interesting and original. We award our "Post of the Day" seven days a week."

The Rising Blogger is written by Judd Corizan, a prolific writer an example of which is in his remarks in his profile * "The written word is so important. Be it in books
* magazines
* newspapers or blogs. The right usage sets your soul free!

I'm truly honored to be recognized by such a talent, and would like to thank you Judd Corizan! Stop by and read The Rising Blogger, where every day you will read a winning post from a different blog! The Rising Blogger's mission statement is listed along with more information on this talented writer and ingenious blog!

Oh! I almost for forgot, The Rising Blogger requested that I "pay it forward" by nominating another post. So start writing bloggers since I will be reading posts to nominate. I 'll find one today!

This is great!

Here is the first part of my winning post-

Who Was Your Favorite Grown-Up?

When you were a child who was your favorite grown-up? My favorite grown-up was my maternal grandmother. Yesterday, I went to her grave site and recalled two of my favorite memories of her. I have many memories of fun grown-ups, although for some reason she's the one who sticks in my mind the most. My other grandparents were great too, of course, but we lived down the street from her in a new neighborhood branched off from an older street or lane, called Moss Side Lane. The name Moss Side came from the moss that hung from the oak trees that shadowed the street.
With the exception of my parents, this grandmother had the most influence in my life. She taught me to wish upon a star, to garden, curtsy, talk to people, read…

Writers Reviews Awards!

Thank you Writers Reviews for the inspirational blogger award! Writers Reviews is home to the Writers Reviews Blogger Awards.

Written by Christy Zutautas, Writers Reviews is a professional writers web site that gives reviews on movies, products, and web sites! Christy gives information on blogging, interviews with other bloggers, advice on ways to make money online, and of course awards! Like this One!

It's easy to see why I'm honored, so much so, I had trouble making up my mind who to nominate! The Writers Reviews award in Christy's words, is "an award series that would give unique, caring, brave, and positive bloggers the recognition they deserve."

Stop by Writers Reviews for more information on the Writers Reviews awards, where you can see each award in the series.

The inspirational blogger award is "For those bloggers who inspire others through their words and actions. With a positive attitude, and an uplifting spirit these bloggers make the blogosphere a better place, and encourage others to do the same. This award is for bloggers who rise up to set an example but continue to reach out and support others

It was hard to narrow my list to only five bloggers to nominate for this award. Especially, since I'm a new blogger who has had support from many different types of bloggers, for example I'm visited by comedy blogs, writers sites, technology sites, woman blogs, momma blogs, daddy blogs, and the list goes on, making it difficult to decide. When I started blogging I was going to post about reading and writing period. Since I'm pacing the publishing house floor most of the time, and enjoy networking with other writers. However, its hard to do when you want to write for parents, since parents aren't interested in reading about writing as much as they are about books and reading. Hence, the creation of a A Nice Place In The Sun, where I spend most of my time confused. If it wasn't for the support of all of my blog friends, encouraging on my posts this boat would not float! I'm spoiled, and look for my blog friends comments after each post. Thanks to all of you A Nice Place In The Sun is a fun place to work! Here are the blogs I nominated with an example of their kind and valued comments on some of my posts!

My First nomination is to Jos from NoDirectOn(not:NoDirection)

Here is his comment:

Hi Ann, this is truly a wonderful piece! I'd wish all teachers, and those who consider becoming one, would read this. There's such a big need for good teachers in today's world, and so many children that are never brought in touch with heir true talent... Good job! Very inspirational!

Jos, Thank you, so much for leaving a comment! I've hardly had any readers the last few days, and it's scary! I always worry about posts until I receive a comment! I really did need an optimistic tap on the shoulder!

I'm so glad Christy introduced me to your blog! Not only do you write well, you're a great blog buddy! :)

Second Nomination is for Ronni with Designing Fairy,

Ann, great material. :) Simon sounds like quite a character. Love the monster story. I battle our 105 year old beagle most the day. Everyone else can use the pet door, but she can't see it, so you have to open the door for her. But, she sits there. Doesn't move. If you try to move her, she moans and gets pissed off. (she's very independent but can't see or hear, so there's the problem). Our animals rule the roost!

Ronni, Thank you for stopping by! After you left that message on blog catalog, it made me think of Simon. Not that I had much of a chance to forget him, but I thought of writing about him. Especially since he will not let me write! I think he's jealous. Your Beagle sounds hilarious! I guess when we get old we'll have an attitude too! It's so comical when they force their will , isn't it? I'm really a dog lover, and can't wait to get a dog. I'm just not in a position at the moment. I lost my 13 year old retriever last year, and she was fussy too. You're right they rule the roost! Thanks for the comment!

Thanks Writer's Reviews For The Thoughtful Blogger Award!

I’ve been awarded The Thoughtful Blogger Award, along with five other bloggers from Writers Reviews.com. The Thoughtful Blogger Award is one of five distinct awards in a series of awards created by Writers Reviews intuitive, creative, and most thoughtful blogger herself Christy Zutautas.

There is a specific description for each award in the series, listed here along with the award rules.

Writers Reviews has created for bloggers a way to honor the blogs we admire in a personable way on an individual basis. An ingenious idea, that frees us to celebrate each blogs unique contribution.

I'm thrilled to be among those recognized by such an outstanding web site, and honestly, I'm unable to catch my breath! It's taken me two days to locate the appropriate words to describe how happy it's made me. Actually, the fact that I was recognized by, and with, bloggers who have more experience blogging than me is amazing!

I'm literally at a loss for words, and I can't pinch myself any longer! Therefore, without any further gushy stuff, I would like to congratulate the following blogs Writers Reviews nominated along with my nomination, and then post the blogs I nominated. Congrats to;

Mariuca from Wishing On A falling Star

Roger from Oger The Caveman

Brown Baron from Brown Thoughts

Colleen from A Madison Mom

Mike from Ordinary Folk

Jos from NoDirectOn(not:NoDirection)

Aaron from Today Is The Day

Wendy eMoms at Home

Recipients of this award are asked to pick five blogs in any of the five categories, which are listed here along with the award rules.

I would like to give three Thoughtful Blogger Awards, and Two Creative Blogger Awards, that again, recipients can copy here along with a link to Writer's Reviews, so we can keep track of where these awards originated, along with the award rules, designs and descriptions for each one.

The Thoughtful Blogger Award:

Aussie Cynic- About Aussie Cynic? What can I say? Well, I will let him say it for himself, "There is not much to being Australian. We are the BEST, BRIGHTEST and CLEVEREST people on Earth. Why else would the rest of the world keep coming here?" I couldn't have said it better myself, except you left out funny, Aussie. Aussie found some fans for my children's story. He told his little girl, and she told him to tell me that she loves my story, so really this award is for her! Congrats, Aussie, and thanks for your continued support!

Sandee at Comedy Plus: Who is not only hilarious, she's warm and thoughtful in her comments, in addition to thinking of little ways to help other blogs. Hers is one of the blogs I thought of when I read the description for the Thoughtful Blogger Award.

Mad Goat Lady: Who takes the time to leave a thoughtful comment, with a "temperamental teenage son, an English husband busy turning into an aussie bloke" and "3 dogs, 3 cats, 3 goats and a cow" to keep her busy! She also leaves comments inquiring about my children's story, a quality I find endearing in grown ups! Thanks Mad Goat Lady, and congrats!

Creative Blogger Award:

Insanity Suits Me and Certifiable at Twisted Sisters: Whose creatively written posts have made me laugh, almost cry, and think, all at the same time! Their posts include their readers on their different life journeys, as well as point out different perspectives on other issues. Creativity runs in their family!

Bob at Bobbarama: Every time I stop by this site, I want to stay and read it all day! It is really that entertaining, not to mention well written. Stop by and visit and you'll quickly see for yourself. Congrats Bob, and thanks for delivering fun to the blogosphere!

Thanks again, Christy from Writers Reviews for enriching this blogs status, in addition to recognizing it's existence in the massive blog world. In addition to writing excellent reviews on blogs, web sites, movies, and products, you have written a wonderful series of awards! Thanks again, Writers Reviews!

Angels On Earth

Lost inside a state of mental and physical exhaustion, I prayed to meet an angel on earth, then, I felt the pillow of a horses mouth gently sweep grass from the palm of my hand. – Ann Clemmons

Words-

Words are the core of our souls, without written, vocal or lyrical expression we lose sight of one another or worse, ourselves. Words bring forth the essence of the human spirit; so express yourself without abandon.

I remember I used to half believe and wholly play with fairies when I was a child. What heaven can be more real than to retain the spirit-world of childhood, tempered and balanced by knowledge and common-sense...

The Storyteller, by Dawn Drover

Alone in her world
of make believe
weaving her stories
of magic and light

She brings joy
to the eyes
of innocent minds
less jaded and free

For only they know
what's in her heart
holding the secrets
she guards so well

Life's hidden mysteries
belong to those
whose wisdom and truth
shine on in imagination
