The Melters Release Their First Video

Once again, I'm doing something different for Saturday's Favorite Movie Moment, which, I promise will return next Saturday.

But at least I postponed my usual feature for a good reason: To introduce The Melters first video release of their live performances since they started playing in 2001.

You may wonder why I'm writing about a band on A Nice Place In The Sun, but one of these clean cut guys so happens to be my son. I wonder if you can guess which one he is...

Anyway all of The Melters songs are upbeat original rock, some of which are downloaded on their blog, including the song in this video, entitled Polio Addict.

The Melters have been playing together for seven years, three of which were in my house, my best friends garage, and the drummers parents home.

All of the their songs titles are original. To find out more about The Melters upcoming shows and more details about their album go to myspace.com/melters.

This video is also posted on You Tube under Melters-Polio Addict in case you would like to embed it or read more about the shows in the video.

Look out Celine Dion! I know all the words to these songs. (read my last post)

So, at the risk of sounding like Ed Sullivan, remember you saw The Melters here first! Thanks for watching~

Happy Saturday~ And have fun

This is SO exciting Ann! I can't imagine how proud you and they are! Congratulations to them - this is an awesome accomplishment!

Thank you Dawn- When they become famous we'll have to ask them to fly us first class to blogging conventions or better yet, concerts and vacations all over the world. (LOL)

I'm glad you love their style, and I'm glad I love it too. Otherwise, I would have never made it all these years. I thought I was going to lose my mind when they were teenagers banging about all day...

I would say things to my son like, "Honey, are you sure you aren't interested in becoming a doctor or something with a little less financial risk?

His reply was, "Well Mom, I don't know. But it's funny because I wondered the same thing about you."

Anyway, the band will be thrilled with your comment Dawn, thanks- they work so hard.

My son is the singer/songwriter/guitarist with the white button down shirt on in the beginning of the video.

Thanks for watching the whole video and leaving such a nice comment. It means a lot to me, and I know it will mean a lot to them.

Huge hug~

Ann

Misty Dawn, If you read what I wrote to Dawn you can see that you are correct in saying how extremely proud and excited I am for them.
Although, I would be lying if I didn't say I'm a little nervous.

As great as it would be to watch their dreams came true.

Those first class tickets around the world don't sound to shabby either. It's nice to see them having fun.

It is an awesome accomplishment and I appreciate your acknowledgment.

You're the best~

Hugs~ Ann

Good music. The video weirded me out, but the music reminds me of a band I listen to a bit named Pinback, are they at all influenced by them? Tell your son to keep following his dream.

Great music. Great video. My boyfriend (former editor of SPIN magazine) says it's like "The Feelies meet the Buzz Cocks." He said they'd know what that means. :-)
