The Melters Release Their First Video
Once again, I'm doing something different for Saturday's Favorite Movie Moment, which, I promise will return next Saturday.
But at least I postponed my usual feature for a good reason: To introduce The Melters first video release of their live performances since they started playing in 2001.
You may wonder why I'm writing about a band on A Nice Place In The Sun, but one of these clean cut guys so happens to be my son. I wonder if you can guess which one he is...
Anyway all of The Melters songs are upbeat original rock, some of which are downloaded on their blog, including the song in this video, entitled Polio Addict.
The Melters have been playing together for seven years, three of which were in my house, my best friends garage, and the drummers parents home.
All of the their songs titles are original. To find out more about The Melters upcoming shows and more details about their album go to myspace.com/melters.
This video is also posted on You Tube under Melters-Polio Addict in case you would like to embed it or read more about the shows in the video.
Look out Celine Dion! I know all the words to these songs. (read my last post)
So, at the risk of sounding like Ed Sullivan, remember you saw The Melters here first! Thanks for watching~
Happy Saturday~ And have fun

Celine Dion - Misheard Lyrics
My son gently presented this video to me as proof that I've been singing the wrong words to Celine Dion's hit song from the movie Titanic,My Heart Will Go On-
It's funny how people misunderstand the words to songs, especially people who are as picky about lyrics, as I am. But I suppose it's a common mistake and I shouldn't be embarrassed. Although, when I think of how many times I sang this song (and others)in the car, shower, walking down the street, outside the car window, and in the grocery store, I cringe.
Many times I belted it out on the front of the ferry boat that crosses our part of the Mississippi River after the movie was released. I imagined Leonardo DiCaprio's arms wrapped securely around my waist, as I belted out the lyrics, my arms stretched toward the sea like a song bird. Although, every time I sang on the ferry, I should have known something was wrong when I heard people laughing and clapping-
That is, most people laughed and clapped, the rest stared at me with a motionless gaze, as if they had never seen anyone like me before, and now I know why... how embarrassing. :))

Tuesday's Question's Page & Readers Comment On Their Most Embarrassing Situations
This is Tuesday's Question's page and first comments:
This Weeks Tuesday's Question was: When is the last time you were in an uncomfortable or potentially embarrassing situation?
And I sited these examples:
Have you ever called someone you know professionally or personally by the wrong name... or waved back at someone from a distance who was waving at someone else?
Or entered the bathroom during a party after the person before you didn't or couldn't flush the toilet...leaving the contents in the bowl for the next person (you) in line?
I say look inside the bathroom before you go in and shut the door, that way you can say something, like "Um, do you think our friends have another bathroom?" as soon as you see "something" swimming around in the toilet bowl ...
That way the guest behind you doesn't have to deal with the embarrassment and they know you didn't do it, because you just entered the bathroom- it's just common courtesy and sense.
Now, are you ready for some real life experiences, because those were only examples of what I meant by uncomfortable or embarrassing predicaments...wait until you read what these bloggers have had to deal with...
And please remember to check out the link beside the bloggers who answered Tuesday's Question and visit when you have a chance- you will not be disappointed.
In addition, be sure and have a Happy St Patrick's Day this week-end~
Be sure and click "read more"

My first blogger comment is from Flowers on A Friday
Too many to choose from unfortunately! The most recent one took place when my advance level English group wanted to have a lesson in the pub (as is the custom once a semester).
All was going well until one smart arse asked if I could go round the table and name every student (12).
Now at the time Polish names sounded pretty much like all the other Polish words I'd heard and if you'd asked me whether Kasia was a person or a river I couldn't have told you with much certaintly.
Couple that with the fact that the names change alot when cut down. For example, Joanna is Asia (pron. Asha), MaĆgorzata is Gosia (pron. Gosha), and Aleksandra is Ola. So the names in the register aren't necessarily what they call each other in class.
Anyway, I couldn't name them all. In fact, I couldn't even name half of them so as is always the case in such situations my face went a disturbing red colour and I fumbled around for a way out.
I think I rambled on about the importance of a cohesive group and about how students should aim to motivate each other outside the class....they didn't fall for it but were polite enough not to push it.
This is my second year in Poland. My ability to remember names is 1000% better than before. I hope!

Next is from Sandee at Comedy Plus
The list is long, but the first one I thought of was really, really horrible for me.
It was in the 80s and I was working at the Women's Jail. My lieutenant wanted his car picked up at the county garage because all the repairs had been made so he assigned me to go with the transporation officer, wherein she would drop me off at the county garage and go on about her buisness. She drops me off and leaves and the county guy gets the lieutenants car and when I get in the car to leave the entire back of my pants come apart. I mean from the waistband all the way down. Uniform pants did that a lot. I have absolutely nothing to cover myself. Nothing.
I start laughing because what's to worry? I'll drive back to the Women's Jail and then take care of my pants then. Not going to happen that easily.
I drive off and get about a mile away and while stopped at a traffic light the car dies. I can't get it started either. There I am sitting out in traffic, in full dress uniform and I can't get out of the car. I find this very funny. So, I just put the flashers on and wait. This is a time when we didn't have cell phones. The lieutenants car didn't have a police radio either. The only way I can communicate with anyone requires that I get out of the car. I look across the street and there's a pay phone. I have the money, but... I just sit there.
In about five minutes a civil car pulls up behind me and thank God I know both of the deputies. They ask me why I'm so amused and I tell them what happened. I immediately get a jacket from one of them that covers my behind.
Somehow the deputy got the car started and we get back to the Women's Jail. I get a pair of blue jeans from the inmate clothing and give the jacket back to the deputy. An inmate sews my pants and everything is back to normal.
For years everytime I would run into these two deputies we would just smile, and I would relive this entire event over again. It was one of the most helpless feelings I ever had as a deputy sheriff.

Dawn from Twisted Sister who always has a great answer, but she was having a brain freeze...Although the way she writes about her mind going blank is hilarious...
Ann my mind is gone blank. OMG can you believe it? I mean it's not that it's never happened - I just can't remember anything recent...
I'll be back if anything comes to mind :)

Robert at From The Roads
I can think of more than one..in fact so many it's embarrassing..:)))...just today I walked into Tim Horton's coffee didn't notice the wet floor slipped slid on my backside and took out the person in front of me in the line up...:))))

Unforeseen Circumstances
I didn't see it coming- I mean how could anyone guess they would be wrestled to the ground by a calf, first thing in the morning...then taken hostage...
Now, due to these unforeseen circumstances I have to postpone Tuesday's Question until this afternoon. However, I will definitely post it. In the meantime, click on any of the red links below...where I have my classic posts stored, the ones the calf doesn't steal, anyway-
See you in a few~
Authors note: Tuesday's Question is below this post, since I was writing it when I was kidnapped...I couldn't publish it until I was free... I want to be sure you see it~ :))
Also there is more (of the truth) information about the reason for the delay in posting Tuesday's Question...

Tuesday's Question
Tuesday's Question: When Was The Last Time You Were In An Uncomfortable Or Potentially Embarassing Situation?
This weeks Tuesday Question: When is the last time you were in an uncomfortable or potentially embarrassing situation?
Here are a few examples I hope will help:
Have you ever called someone you know professionally or personally by the wrong name... or waved back at someone from a distance who was waving at someone else?
Or entered the bathroom during a party after the person before you didn't or couldn't flush the toilet...leaving the contents in the bowl for the next person (you) in line?
At the risk of sounding presumptuous, I think we've all been in these situations, although the bathroom experience is the one I have the most trouble understanding-
I mean, why doesn't the person ahead of you ever tell you the toilet is broken? I think when anyone slides out of the bathroom in silence with a flushed (no pun intended) look on their face, it means one of two things A) They couldn't flush the toilet and were embarrassed; or B) they don't want you to think they did it, even if they didn't because if they mention the unmentionable you will hold them responsible...therefore it's better to pretend it doesn't exist- someone should bottle denial ...
(Remember what they said about water.)
I say look inside the bathroom before you shut the door, then you can say something, like "Um, do you think our friends have another bathroom?" but do this as soon as you see the floater...
That way the guest behind you doesn't have to deal with the embarrassment and they know you didn't do it, because you just entered the bathroom- it's just common courtesy and sense.
Also, I look in the toilet bowl as soon as I enter the bathroom, because if you linger and primp in the mirror applying your lipstick before you wander over to use the bathroom... then discover the twirling remains...well you may have to take ownership...
Bottom line don't stay in the bathroom too long; and be sure to go to parties where there will be two restrooms available...
O.K I think you get the meaning of this Tuesday's Question, if not please feel free to ask me in comments and I will be happy to offer you a few more examples. Remember, when was your last uncomfortable or potentially embarrassing situation..you have to have had one...
If this is the first time you've read Tuesday's Question it's easy and fun and my way of passing weekly blog love as I get to know my readers. All of the questions are original from my own zany brain, although asking questions at parties and particularly on blogs is nothing new, I wanted to ask my own. Therefore, I decided to ask the kind of questions I would inquire of friends at one of my one bathroom parties because it's fun and I could post everyones answers, and link to their blog the next day.
Bloggers comments will be posted with a link by their blog name, so be sure to stop and read their comments and maybe even visit some new blogs after the comments are posted, it's fun~
However, in todays case your comments will be posted Thursday, since I'm posting this question Tuesday evening, and everyone needs time to comment. (I usually post them on Weds.)
In addition, I would like to beg my regular readers and wonderful friends forgiveness for posting so late in the evening, instead of earlier in the day as usual...and I have a confession to make- I wasn't really taken hostage by a calf as I said in my previous post- I just didn't know what to say.
I had one of those terrible bad days; it was as if I were going backwards on a roller coaster unable to get off...no matter how much I screamed at the ride conductor, or gate keeper, or ride controller, whatever you call them- The reason? Because I've had awful insomnia lately and the words I wrote this morning also looked backwards on the page. So I decided you deserved better and waited until later in the day...after I managed to close my eyes for awhile. Therefore, I hope you will forgive me and have as much fun answering the question later in the day.
And thanks for reading... As usual I can't wait to read your answers...

Saturdays Favorite Movie Moment: Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid
This is one of my favorite scenes from the movie classic Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, starring Paul Newman, Robert Redford, and Katherine Ross.
Butch (Newman's character)takes Etta (Katherine Ross) for a ride on a bicycle for the first time- to the tune Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head by Burt Bacharach.
I hope you like it, this movie clip puts me in a great mood every time I see it...I would rather go on a bike ride like this than wined and dined in the finest restaurant, especially with Paul Newman.
Have a terrific Saturday, but look out for raindrops- Well.. that was a corny fragmented sentence wasn't it?
Oh well...watching this scene shook me up~ :))
Cheers and happy Saturday~

Chipper Kids: Counting In The Crazy Garden
“One Jiggly, wiggly, wobbly worm cobbler” sounded great to Arnold Chipper, the creative and organized teddy bear gardener. However, the zealot chef had trouble convincing his curious but reluctant sister Maria and friend Albert to try his dishes. Not because the recipes were from the garden, but because the ingredients were the dirt, grass, pine needles and other creatures Arnold found outside.
Chipper Kids-Counting in the Crazy Garden is a counting by numbers book (one to ten) although it reads more like a story- The book begins on a single page with Arnold Chipper stirring from a bowl of what looks like mud, although the first page is not counted.
The counting begins on the first two-page spread with the number One in the top left corner. The page with the number in the corner has as illustration of the same number of recipes Arnold creates… a counting style that continues throughout the story- For example, on the first two-page spread we see an illustration of “One jiggly, wiggly, wobbly worm cobbler, ” on the left page with the numerical number one on the top of the page.
Margarette Burnette’s fun characters and active prose nicely accommodate Brooke Henson’s expressive illustrations, creating a happy mood for the story. All Arnold needs for his dream to create goodies from his own garden to come true is a little information. The first two- page spread has an illustration of “One jiggly, wiggly, wobbly worm cobbler” with the number one in the top left corner of the page. However, the right page illustrates Arnold with his baking hat offering his brother Albert some “wiggly, wobbly worm cobbler,” but of course, Albert says, “No way” disgusted by the thought of eating worms from the dirt...
The second two pages are full of colorful illustrations of Arnold happily stirring a recipe with his sister and friend in his Garden. His sister Maria and Albert are interested in what Arnold is making throughout the book-, which is hilarious. The second two pages (or the third two- page spread) the numeral Two is boldly printed in the left corner of the page, as it was with Arnold’s worm cobbler and an illustration of “Two tall tubs of tumbleweed soup” are displayed- Albert and Maria’s reaction is across from the illustration of the two cans on the next page. Children will laugh at Arnold’s concoctions, while learning to recognize and count numbers as they participate in counting Arnold's feasts.
The text is not preachy or patronizing and the characters are lovable- You cannot help but love Arnold whose perseverance and love for his garden are evident throughout the story. Arnold’s charm will have children requesting a page turn, anxious to know the outcome of what Arnold will cook next, in addition to counting along curious to see how much of it he will make. You begin to hope for Arnold as his sister and friend look out the window wondering what to do, until... I’m sorry, I can’t tell you what happens next...
You will have to see by getting a copy for yourself, and your children... Arnold will not only interest your children in counting and gardening, he will help parents teach their kids about healthy food and where it comes from-
I loved it~
Note: I received a letter along with the review copy of Counting in the Crazy Garden (JenPrint, 2008) with some additional information about the author, so if you’ll forgive my quotation from the letter, I thought it may be interesting for some of you to have more information about the author:
“When she’s not blogging, Burnette is a health and parenting writer. Her articles have appeared in Parenting, Pregnancy, Essence and several regional parenting publications.
“She lives outside of Atlanta , Georgia, with her husband and two children, ages four and six. “ .
“Chipper Kids: Counting in the Crazy Garden (JenPrint Publications, hardcover)”
“Burnette blogs about her experiences at www.ChpperKids.com a web site that also offers free games, and coloring books for kids.”
Readers Comments To Tuesdays Question: What Smell, Sound, Song , Etc. Reminds You Of A Happy Moment Or Person?
As usual, the responses to this past Tuesday's Question were wonderful.
I asked What Smell, Sound, Song, Etc, Reminds You Of A Happy Moment Or Person? And here were your responses- Remember those of you reading Tuesday's Questions comments to be sure and visit these bloggers blogs- they're great- just click on the link name, and thank you all for reading~
My good friend Sandee, from Comedy Plus was the first to comment:
Great question Ann, but there are so many for me to pick from. Let's see...
One of the greatest smells for me is the smell of a freshly cut Christmas tree. It reminds me of my childhood. My parents never had a artificial tree until all of us kids were grown. It was always a freshly cut tree that us kids would pick to celebrate Christmas.
We lived on a farm and there was forest all around. Each year my dad would get the axe and off we'd go to find the tree us kids wanted. They never chose the tree it was always us kids. It made us feel very special to be allowed to make such and important decision. Sometimes we kids felt sorry for a tree that seemed unloved and we would chose that one instead of a beautiful tree. It still smelled wonderful, and we would lovingly decorate it to be as beautiful as possible.
My parents are gone now, but the smell of a fresh cut evergreen always reminds me of them and our Christmastime. It was a magical time of peace, family and the spirit of Christmas.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And here is mine: I usually do not post my response, however this time I did for my Mom: Pipe tobacco reminds me of my grandfather- the smell of smoke billowed from his mouth and hung in the air- before joining the rest of Fall's bouquet- when the breeze in the air smells as crisp as washed sheets on a clothesline, sending fragrances on the wind, and through the drapes of an open window. These images blend and shout his name-like the seasons, people, and places he loved-- but the smell from his pipe was different- it soothed my soul like a cool drink of water on a hot summer Sunday - I remember locking my dirty knees inside my hands- secure the world was right... as the tobacco in my grandfathers pipe snapped, cracked, and burned inside the bowl. He knew where I was, although his eyes examined the pages of a book, reading the phrases of others from another world, in perhaps another time. I love the smell of pipe smoke.

Eric from Retarded Sushi
Fresh baked bread. My grandfather used to bake fresh bread and the smell would permeate everywhere. The only thing that came close was the smell of fresh homemade fudge my grandmother made.

Funny pipe smoke is one for me as well ..my Dad smoked a pipe..you always knew when he was around from the aroma of the tobbaco he smoked...I walked into a tobacconist store about a year ago and bought some of Dad's mixture just for nostalgia sake..

Remember the song 'Turn Me Loose' by Loverboy? I joined a dart team the year that song was a hit. There were a lot of guys on the team who wanted to help teach me throw darts. They would stand behind me and guide my arm with little tidbits of advice. I never let on that I could play... it was too much fun! I was 18 at the time and every time I hear 'Turn Me Loose'... I am transported back in time :)

Misty Dawn at Misty's Musings; My Dogs Keep Me Sane
The smell of freshly baked (or baking) cookies. My grandma (who raised me) always had fresh cookies for whomever may happen to stop by.
The smell of Old Spice. It reminds me of climbing up into Grandpa's lap in the evening and snuggling my head on his chest just under his chin. We'd sing silly songs or we'd just talk about anything and everything from what he had done that day to what my dreams were. (I didn't become the first woman president like he thought I would though hehe) And, I was still sitting on his lap when I was in my 20s ;-) Some things are just too special to give up!

Tuesdays Question: What Sound, Smell, Song, Etc, Reminds You Of A Happy Moment Or Person?
Welcome to Tuesday's Question! And congratulations to the new award recipients of the You Cheer Me Up Award winners underneath this post. What is difficult about using blogger is when you want to do three important posts at once. One covers another, so I'm going to leave Tuesday's Question first for the beginning of the day, and this afternoon I have a few special friends to thank with another award to post.
Moving on, I have a nostalgic Tuesday's Question today, but it should be a fun one.
What Sound, Smell, Song, Etc, Reminds You of A Happy Moment Or Person?
You know when you're driving along the road and hear a song on the radio that reminds you of someone or something that made you happy? Or when you smell a certain perfume or go to a particular place, it evokes a happy memory ?
For example, for me it's pipe smoke. The other day in the grocery store a man was smoking a pipe and it brought back images in my mind of the happy times I spent with my maternal grandfather, and even sub-conscious observations I made about him when I was a child.
Much of what we write about comes from life experiences, imagination, sub-conscious memory, and observation. For me, stories begin as pictures or visions or memories in my head, that many times evolve into something else- but in order to paint the picture or the memory for the reader, I use my senses and sub-conscious memories, etc. like pieces of a puzzle to make up the image, and it usually brings back memories I didn't even know I remembered- if that makes any sense.
I think writing helps us with so many things in our life, because it pushes us to examine our authenticity and forces us to ask questions- kind of like I'm doing to you today. :))
Anyway, I hope you have fun pulling up memories and as usual I can't wait to read them. What smell, sound, or memory, etc... have you had or experienced this week that may have reminded you of something or someone? Here is my happy memory brought on by a man in the grocery stores pipe smoke- From that experience I remembered this...
Pipe tobacco reminds me of my grandfather- the smell of smoke billowed from his mouth and hung in the air- before joining the rest of Fall's bouquet- when the breeze in the air smells as crisp as newly-washed sheets one a clothesline, sending fragrances on the wind, and through the drapes of an open window. These images blend and shout his name-like the seasons, people, and places he loved-- but the smell from his pipe was different- it soothed my soul like a cool drink of water on a hot summer Sunday - I remember locking my dirty knees inside my hands- secure the world was right... as my grandfathers pipe bowl snapped, cracked, and burned the tobacco inside. He knew where I was, although his eyes examined the pages of a book, reading the phrases of others from another world, in perhaps another time. I love the smell of pipe smoke.
Thank you for participating and reading, and I hope to see you next Tuesday, until then~ I can't wait to read and post your answers~ Have fun!

Its Time To Give Out More Of The 'You Cheer Me Award'
When I started the You Cheer me Up Award I decided to keep it going for the new bloggers I meet who cheer me up. Well, I've been keeping up with the blogs out there who cheer me up, along with trying to add some of the blogs I thought I had on the list, however for some reason or another they didn't get an award. I hope I haven't missed anyone again, because you know I can be a bit of a flippedity jibbit at times.
Anyway, I'm keeping the recipients fairly small but will continue to add to the original award post every month. Therefore if you've already received an award and are not on the award post page, please shout it out, and I will have my assistants on it you right away. I'm working on a new award page and want to keep up with the award recipients. The You Cheer Me Up Award will be A Nice Place In The Sun's only award so I want to have all the award recipients included on the original award post page.
Congratulations to the bloggers who received an award today and thanks for spreading more cheer in a world that needs more laughter. The award post gives a better explanation of how to pass on the award, which by the way is optional. HERE is the link to the award post. I'm passing the award to your blog, the post is there for you to read, with the instructions for passing it along, however is it totally up to you. Hence, congratulations again and thanks for cheering me and everyone else up!
Another link to the You Cheer Me Up Award post.
Now imagine bell ringing, and the background music:(A Little Help From My Friends, by the Beatles)
And this months You Cheer Me Up Award goes to:
I can't believe that Mimi at Mimi Writes, the queen of meme's, wasn't included in my first list of recipients. I'm sorry Mimi, Mimi Writes is one of my favorite blogs, therefore I assumed my assistants had it posted...(some people will get a pink slip of paper morning, if you know what I mean.)
Anyway, Mimi Writes simply must have a You Cheer Me Up Award, other wise it would be like white without rice or something like that- you know what I mean, don't ya?
Meleah at Momma Mia, Mea Culpa
Colin at Life
Fallen Angel at Secret Monologues
Lauren at Can You Be A Part Of My life
Lis at About Every Little Thing
Soapbox Mom at Soapbox Mom
Olga at Olga, The Traveling Bra
Ella at A Quest For Happiness
Drowsey Monkey at Drowsey Monkey
My new friend at Retarded Sushi
Mo at It's A Blog Eat Blog World
Claire at A Little Piece Of Me
Congratulations nominees and remember if you didn't receive an award this month, it doesn't mean that you won't be next month, except if you're an old friend that my assistants also forgot to post. However, if you are a new friend that I have blessed with the Your Cheer Me Up Award, just click HERE so you can read the original award post-
Participating is optional, but remember if you wish to post Lucy and Ethel the code is on the top of my sidebars first page and on the award post-
I don't know why I'm writing all of this- the same information is above this post and in the award post- I think it comes from all of my mothers letter writing. When we were children she left letters all over the house reminding us of our chores- this behavior continued until we were old enough to remember what she wanted us to do- it's hard when the house keeper has the day off, but that's another post-
Thanks for cheering me up!

Has It Really Been A Week?
Has it been a week?
I can't believe it's been a week since I posted Saturday’s Favorite Movie moment. I feel like I've been roaming the city with amnesia or something, it's an awful feeling...
When I woke up last Monday and couldn't find one slipper, I should have known something was coming, not that all mornings are a bed of roses, but waking up to just one slipper is a sign that somethings amiss. I do not have a dog, and my cat Simon can't understand why people and dogs find slippers resourceful anyway, so I knew it wasn't the cat- therefore where was the slipper?
I will give one hundred dollars to the person with the answer- well, never mind, because someone else probably knows- that person is just not me. Hence, before I was awake I was looking for one slipper with one eye open and the other eye refusing to budge, probably because I could hear what sounded like the low moaning of an angry or frightened cat.
It was "Monster" my cat Simon’s nemesis at the door. When Monster's hungry, he comes to call, and Simon have this same fight through the front door when he does. I decided to ignore the cat drama, and got out of bed ignoring the fact that I had one slipper, at least I had coffee. I felt a warm feeling wash over me at the thought of coffee, so I jumped out of bed ready to go make myself a cup when a pain almost as bad as childbirth hit me.
Suddenly, the side of my mouth felt like boy scouts were building a fire on the top of a tooth.
I wanted to shout at the campers, "go find someone else's mouth to build a fire in, o.k.? This persons mouth you're in should be last in queue for infuriating situations, it's not my turn... In fact, I'll give you names of other people whose mouths you haven't visited in awhile, if you would please just camp out in someone else's mouth, preferably one who doesn't have a busy week."
However, my pleading brought no comply, with the exception of what felt like another log hitting the fire, and the beginning of a long hot dog roast. Therefore, before I had my first cup of coffee or found my other slipper, I had a toothache, a moaning cat, the telephone ringing, and my son calling, "Mom, can I look at something on your computer for a minute?"
Although, this was before he saw my face, because later in the day, he paused with an inquisitive look on his face and said, "Wait a second, what is wrong with your face? It looks like you've swallowed a whale or something."
I tried to mumble a "Goo mornin'" and an explanation, as I walked through the living room to make a cup of coffee in the kitchen, holding the side of my face, and wondering what in the world could happen to a slipper in the middle of the night. I got an ice pack out of the freezer with one hand, and the coffee can with the other, still wondering about my slipper, and listening to Simon getting louder...
"Moan...nnnn.” I guess he is afraid Monster might get a morsel of the food in his bowl he is didn't plan on eating anyway. I don’t know why I call Simon's nemesis Monster, it should be the other way around, but sometimes life is just backwards.
Or at least I hoped today would be a backwards day, because the beginning was so bad, backwards would have been a welcomed relief. I mean if it began at the dentist office, and went backwards I should be winning the lottery by the afternoon, right?
However, when I was in line at the drug store to get antibiotics for my tooth my foot slipped off the break pedal and tapped the car in front of me. I was in a daze from the pain, so the tap barely fazed me, but I could see my victim surveying the damages through his rear view mirror- no doubt pondering his chances to claim whiplash. To be fair there was a small scratch under the license plate, so we had to call the police, and wait for them for two hours to give me a ticket for hitting someone from behind in line at the drug store.
After the police left, I sat in the parking lot and looked toward the sky. Half of my face was swollen and my tooth hurt so bad I wished heaven would drop a rope for me to hold onto while I was pulled among the stars to Gods cradling arms again... where I could forget about toothaches, moaning cats, unlucky days, and cars...
But first I have to try to understand how a slipper can walk away by itself in the middle of the night...plus I have to write for local magazines, get my books published, and keep trying to write A Nice Place In The Sun, so that others will have a place to get away from their toothaches, cars, moaning cats, etc...
Therefore thanks for keeping me going, and coming to visit, I hope I didn't miss too much- has it really been a week?
Note:
As it turned out I had a tooth that abscessed and I’m not kidding the days between Monday and today have been one long blur...except for the dentist, which I have to go back to next week... I mean this week....but there will be a Tuesday's Question, in addition to some awards this week~
Unless of course the slipper and the computer have concocted a brilliant escape plan~

Angels On Earth
Lost inside a state of mental and physical exhaustion, I prayed to meet an angel on earth, then, I felt the pillow of a horses mouth gently sweep grass from the palm of my hand.

Motherhood is an art impossible to explain, one which requires a vast sea of love, devotion, compassion, and understanding, unmatched by any affection we will ever know again.- Ann Clemmons

Words-
Words are the core of our souls, without written, vocal or lyrical expression we lose sight of one another or worse, ourselves. Words bring forth the essence of the human spirit; so express yourself without abandon.

I remember I used to half believe and wholly play with fairies when I was a child. What heaven can be more real than to retain the spirit-world of childhood, tempered and balanced by knowledge and common-sense...

The Storyteller, by Dawn Drover
Alone in her world
of make believe
weaving her stories
of magic and light
She brings joy
to the eyes
of innocent minds
less jaded and free
For only they know
what's in her heart
holding the secrets
she guards so well
Life's hidden mysteries
belong to those
whose wisdom and truth
shine on in imagination

F. Scott Fitzgerald. (Lines from The Great Gatsby)
"A Southerner Talks Music"
Mark Twain
"A book must be the ax for the frozen sea inside us."
Franz Kafka
An author values a compliment even when it comes from a source of doubtful competency.

"I like a good story well told. That is the reason I am sometimes forced to tell them myself"
