Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day Dads!
This is your day and I hope it's a marvelous one!
Here is a photo of my father when his was seventeen years old with his first horse. My mother told me that when my father and her were teenagers they rode double on this mare all day.
She said she was surprised they didn't ride her to death. But, I cannot see how that could have happened, due to my parents love of horses.
I can see them riding in a pasture all day. Because of him my childhood was surrounded by life. I witnessed the birth of foals, had a pony and later a horse. I fell off horses, jumped back on, and was surrounded by great people who boarded their horses at my parents barn; people who put up with a small child on a daily basis. I believe we're shaped by our environment in early childhood, so I was terribly lucky.
Lucky to have a father with a great sense of humor, heart, and character. A man who loves people, his children, horse's, and fish. Today he is a deep sea fisherman.

Thank you Daddy for helping me recreate my life, and for being the vessel that carried much of my weight.
Thank you for believing in me and setting me free to become myself.

Although, you never said too much, you showed me how to pave a path in life, which is a spectacular gift.

Thank you for the dreams of riding in our pasture, and for the comforting smell of alfalfa, hay, horses, dirt, and dogs that will remain in my spirit for a lifetime.
I'm so grateful you're my Dad. Happy Father's Day Cowboy/Fisherman!

And again, Happy Father's Day to all of my readers.  -Laughing- That is, all of my remaining readers.  I keep blogging, leaving and returning...do to the fact that I have been working on a children's book- Be quiet about that, it's a secret only for my loyal readers.-

And, I am waiting for a new computer. Microsoft word crashed on my computer, and you wouldn't believe what I went through to post this picture. But, by the end of this week I'll be back in business!

What? You don't believe me? Well, just wait and see. :)

Thank you for visiting A Nice Place In The Sun! I hope you find a nice place in the sun today!

Happy Dad's Day!

Hey, very nice site. I came across this on Google, and I am stoked that I did. I will definitely be coming back here more often. Wish I could add to the conversation and bring a bit more to the table, but am just taking in as much info as I can at the moment. Thanks for sharing.

Words-

Words are the core of our souls, without written, vocal or lyrical expression we lose sight of one another or worse, ourselves. Words bring forth the essence of the human spirit; so express yourself without abandon.
