I've been working hard lately and before I know it, I've run out of day, and one of my New Years Resolutions was to post as often as possible on the sunny side of the internet, which is A Nice Place In The Sun.
Okay, I will stop being corny and move on to Tuesday's Question. Tuesday's Question is a weekly, bi-weekly, tri-weekly, or monthly, - Just kidding, it's weekly- post in which I ask a question and if you wish to answer it, I will post a link back to your blog, and if you do not have a blog, I will publish your answer along with your name.

As much as I love words, I'll choose a picture. Words have layers of meanings aside from the dictionary meaning so the same word could elicit different emotional responses. And if you need to clarify then either the original wasn't written well or you start to beat a dead horse. Of course pictures elicit different responses from different people. While essential meanings might be obvious that's not how humans seem to operate. We bring ourselves to everything.

I think visual people would need the picture or painting. I'm an avid reader so I don't need the picture of the painting. A well written book and I can visualize whatever they want me too. Perhaps even more. I'll go with the words.

Before, I answer the question, I have to say, although I pride myself on writing original questions, I borrowed this one from a movie I recently watched on Netflix, entitled, Words And Pictures. I promise, I will continue to write original questions next week, but I thought this question would prove to be thought provoking.
In your opinion, which is more valuable, A Picture or Painting Worth A Thousand Words Or A Thousand Words?
Before, I answer the question, I have to say, although I pride myself on writing original questions, I borrowed this one from a movie I recently watched on Netflix, entitled, Words And Pictures. I promise, I will continue to write original questions next week, but I thought this question would prove to be thought provoking.
Okay, here's my answer,
Although, I'm a writer I still found this question difficult if not impossible to answer. Because I think the two compliment each other and that they are of equal value. But, if I had to pick, I would have to say a thousand words. I gave this question a lot of thought and decided that both are extremely valuable and really paintings, photography, and drawings use words in much the same way writers do, and good artists always show, not tell us about ourselves and the world around us.
Maybe it's because I'm a writer, I don't know, but I think thousand words provide more clarity and I think clarity is important when you are trying to illicit emotion. But, to be fair, both art forms leave it up to the person looking at a painting or reading a book to decide for themselves what they will take away from it.
And both never really tell a story, they show you one through the use of words or pictures. Writers paint stories through the use of imagery, whereas artists paint the scenery. However, I decided on writing for clarity, in addition to shaping characters we can relate to by the use of dialogue because we use language to communicate our emotions.
But, please do not get me wrong, I said if I had to decide between the two, when truly I think both pictures, paintings, etc...are as valuable as words.
Okay, now it's your turn...but don't worry, you have plenty of time, in fact I wrote this post so late, you can sleep on it. :)

It's a rough draft and the first page, but one day a reader suggested I write more on a subject I wrote a post about, and I decided it would make a good short story. I will let you know who the reader is on Thursday. I hope the contest will allow me to take you through the story, but they usually have strict rules, but we'll see.
