This Week-end's Favorite Movie Moment
I was running late posting Saturday's Favorite Movie Moment, so I decided to change the posts title to This Week-ends Favorite Movie Moment. Because one of a woman's greatest joys is the prerogative to change her mind.
In addition, I've decided to familiarize myself with "Towanda's" attitude, much like Evelyn Couch, (Kathy Bates) did a fine job of accomplishing in this scene from Fried Green Tomatoes.
Fried Green Tomatoes stars Jessica Tandy, Kathy Bates, Mary Stuart Masterson, Mary Louise Parker, and Chris O'Donnell.
In this week-ends favorite movie moment Evelyn Couch (Kathy) becomes her "new independent self" Towanda with a little help from her new hormone pills. I'm not sure if I'm hormone ready, but I have a feeling these pills will come in handy someday.
If you haven't seen Fried Green Tomatoes, it's time to rent it, because this movie has it all- it's a terrific film.

ReplyDeleteI love this movie and I especially love this scene! I have been working to add my Cheer Me Up Award to my site. Unfortunately WP2.5 has a few quirks, which is making it slow going. I hope all is well in your world!

Bud, You love this one too? Wow, that is eerie, but a good eerie. I love stories about unlikely friendships.
ReplyDeleteFriendships that wouldn't exist except for a shared circumstance or conflict that threatens their physical or emotional survival.
And these type of movies can be written as farces, light comedy, or drama- because the triumph over hardship and the endurance of the human spirit are the story of our lives's and you know what they say about art imitating life.
Not to mention the hilarious situations we get ourselves into- I'm sorry, I sound like a bad English Professor, or something.
I've been going on and on...with this comment.
Basically, (not that you asked) I like movies that remind us of our ability to rise to the occasion, because it's what I want to believe about people- that we have the power to survive anything, especially if we have the support and love we need from one another.
Actually, it doesn't surprise me that we like the same movies, because we share the same taste in music, and music also connects the most unlikely characters and helps us through the most difficult times.
Music will always be here for us, like the open arms of a good friend, no matter what our differences, situations or hardships.
It's amazing how many wonderful friends I've met since I've been blogging, and you're right, it seems eerie when you share many of the same tastes, but it's a good kind of eerie because you know someone gets it~
