Aprils You Cheer Me Up Awards

I've decided to use a different episode from the I love Lucy Show when passing out the You Cheer Me Up Award each month. Above is the image for the award with the code beneath it, if you would like to add it to your sidebar or pass it along to others.


The image of Lucy up to mischief again, is Lucy's first time doing a commercial for an advertising agency, but not her first job. It was also one of the many times she trying to show Ricky that she was an independent woman capable of making it on her own-

Back in January, I wanted to pass out an award that made people laugh, and I knew the images and scenes from the classic situational comedy I love Lucy would be the perfect way to turn other bloggers and readers into a bunch of gigantic giggle boxes. I envisioned people laughing at their desks and home at this talented comedian who has been out of our lives too long, even though she remains in our hearts and memories.

However, I discovered that some people aren't familiar with the I love Lucy show when I began passing out the award. Therefore, I decided to post a clip or write about the history of the show in addition to continuing to pass out the award each month.

The award does seem to fit the blogosphere nicely, for one thing, like Lucy, there are many bloggers in a class by themselves. Bloggers who cheer their readers up by making them laugh or feel good in their own special way. For example, and as afore mentioned, they contribute to our overall well being by turning serious grown ups into walking giggle boxes by the end of the day.

I think the award has become a real hit thanks to the terrific bloggers who recognize these qualities in others, and pass the award along to other unsuspecting bloggers who are cheered up for the rest of the day because they remember it's O.K. to be silly sometimes. Watching someone funny is addictive that's why my original list in January consisted of forty six bloggers- and has now grown pass a hundred and counting...

This is the first time I've passed the award along since the original post in January, the rest were passed out by the award recipients themselves.

Therefore, the additional award winners who were added to the award page were added by the bloggers out there who received an award and passed it along to the blogs who cheered them up-


I added them to the award page by receiving a comment or a link from their post or the award code. Therefore, my hats off to all of you who spread the cheer~ You're the coolest giggle box givers in the blogosphere~

The bloggers I nominate for the You Cheer Me Up Award I hold in the highest esteem- along with the likes of Charlotte from Charlotte's Web, a box of Peanut Butter Panic Ice Cream, and this image above of Lucy and Ethel. Often we lack the opportunity to show the people who make a difference in our lives how much we appreciate what they do, for example, cheering us up when we feel down, or just making us laugh- period. It's particularly hard to show gratitude to the people we aren't familiar with on a personal or daily basis- such as people in the public eye or other bloggers- who entertain, teach and cheer us up everyday.

Although, I thought I already nominated The Soapbox Mom for this award I noticed it wasn't listed. So I decided to nominate her this month, and when I went to copy the link the award was already posted in her sidebar. How cool is that and how groovy is The Soapbox Mom?
